Image Rights & Submissions: COZ Magazine makes no claim of ownership over the photography or artwork featured within our publications. All images are submitted by creators with expressed, non-exclusive permission to publish, format, and edit for editorial purposes. By submitting content, the submitter warrants that they hold the legal rights to said material or have obtained the necessary clearances from the original photographer.

Intellectual Property & Fair Use: COZ is a community-focused publication intended for entertainment and educational purposes. We hold the highest respect for the original creators, studios, and copyright holders of the intellectual properties portrayed by cosplayers. The inclusion of costumes and characters is an act of fan celebration and does not imply endorsement by, or a partnership with, the respective IP owners.

Copyright Infringement: We make every effort to ensure proper credit and licensing. Any perceived violation of copyright or intellectual property is strictly unintentional and coincidental. If you believe your work has been used incorrectly, please contact our legal department for immediate resolution.

Content Ownership & Editorial Rights

All original editorial content, including articles, interviews, and layout designs, is the property of COZ Magazine. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of this material is strictly prohibited.

Photographic Submissions

COZ Magazine acts as a platform for creators and does not claim ownership of submitted photography. By submitting images to COZ Magazine, the submitter (the "Licensor") agrees to the following:

Warranty of Rights: The Licensor warrants that they are the legal owner of the image or have obtained written permission from the photographer/owner to submit it for publication.
Grant of License: The Licensor grants COZ Magazine a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use, crop, and format the image for digital and print publication, social media promotion, and archival purposes.
Indemnification: The Licensor agrees to indemnify COZ Magazine against any legal claims or fees arising from a breach of copyright ownership regarding the submitted material.

Intellectual Property (IP) Respect

COZ Magazine is a fan-driven publication. We do not own, nor do we claim to represent, the studios, publishers, or creators of the characters portrayed in our features. Cosplay is featured as a transformative art form under fair use for entertainment and commentary.

Dispute Resolution

We respect the intellectual property of all artists. If you believe your work has been featured without proper credit or authorization, please email [Your Legal/Contact Email] with the subject line "Rights Inquiry" for immediate review and correction.

COZ Magazine: Code of Ethics

As a representative of COZ Magazine, you are the face of our brand. Whether you are on the floor of a major convention, backstage at a concert, or interviewing a creator, your conduct reflects our commitment to the community. All team members are expected to adhere to the following standards:

1. Professionalism & Integrity

Media Credentials: Press passes are for work, not for "perks." If you are granted media access, your primary goal is to produce the content you were assigned. Do not abuse your badge to skip lines for personal gain or disrupt event operations.
Accuracy: We strive for truth. Fact-check your articles, spell creator names correctly, and never intentionally misrepresent a story or a quote.

2. Respect & Consent

"Cosplay is Not Consent": This is our golden rule. Always ask for permission before taking a photo, and never touch a cosplayer or their props without an express invitation.
Safe Spaces: Respect the boundaries of guests and creators. If an artist or celebrity declines an interview or photo, accept it graciously. Harassment of any kind—verbal, physical, or digital—will result in immediate removal from the team.

3. The "Good COZ" Standard

Community First: Our mission is to lift the community up. While honest reviews (such as in Sound Trek) are encouraged, we do not engage in "gatekeeping," bullying, or elitism.
Inclusivity: We cover creators of all backgrounds, body types, and skill levels. Our content must remain accessible and welcoming to everyone.

4. Objectivity & Conflict of Interest

Transparency: If you have a personal relationship with a brand or creator you are reviewing, disclose it to the Editorial Team.
Gifts: While small promotional items (swag) are common at events, team members must not accept significant gifts or payments in exchange for a guaranteed positive review.

5. Digital & Social Media Responsibility

Brand Representation: When identifying as a COZ Team member on social media, avoid engaging in public feuds or posting content that contradicts our mission of community and kindness.
Embargoes: Respect "Off the Record" requests and media embargoes. If a studio or creator asks you to wait until a specific date to share a photo or scoop, you must honor that agreement.

Failure to adhere to this Code of Ethics may result in the revocation of media assignments and termination of your volunteer position with COZ Magazine.
