Every month, COZ Magazine checks in with the artists, builders, and community pillars who define the heart of cosplay. For our June 2026 showcase, we are turning our spotlight across the pond to Portsmouth, United Kingdom, to introduce you to a creator whose journey from intense stage fright to armor-clad accuracy is a testament to what makes this community so powerful.
Meet the diverse cosplayer known to the global cosplay community simply as Harii. At 33 years old, Harii has built a staggering portfolio of over 50 cosplays in just five years. From the sleek, dystopian aesthetics of anime to the brutally complex, battle-worn armor of high-fantasy video games, her work is a masterclass in dedication and technical execution.
To see Harii commanding a room today in full armor, you would never guess where her story began. Her very first brush with the craft dates back to 2013, when she put together a modest, handmade Elizabeth Comstock from Bioshock Infinite. But back then, severe shyness and overwhelming anxiety kept her from diving headfirst into the community. The costume went into the closet, and the hobby was put on pause.
The turning point came a decade later in 2021. Spotting a striking comic book cover of DC's chaotic villain Punchline, something clicked. The design was too good to ignore; she had to build it. Breaking through her internal barriers, Harii constructed the suit, stepped out onto the convention floor, and was instantly hooked.
Since that pivotal moment, cosplay has transitioned from a source of anxiety to her ultimate catalyst for personal growth. While she candidly admits that fighting her own confidence and finding the courage to approach photographers at massive events remains a difficult, ongoing challenge, the community has given her a fortress of support. Today, she stands taller, sharper, and stronger for it.
When you look at the heavy hitters in Harii’s roster, it becomes immediately clear why she has garnered so much respect in the field. She is perhaps most widely recognized for her breathtaking portrayal of 2B from NieR: Automata, but her versatility spans a massive range of fandoms. Whether she is stepping into the shoes of the tragic cyborg Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the lethal Yor Forger from Spy x Family, the fierce Ciri from The Witcher, or the notoriously complex, blade-wielding demigod Malenia from Elden Ring, there is one defining characteristic across all her work: absolute precision.
Harii prides herself on an uncompromising dedication to accuracy, refusing to debut a costume until she is 100% satisfied with every seam, prop, and detail. That perfectionism transforms her from a costumer into a living canvas, collaborating with talented photographers to treat convention floors, studios, and on-location shoots like fine art galleries.
But her impact isn't just aesthetic; it’s deeply altruistic. When she isn't donning elaborate video game armor, Harii hooks up a proton pack and hits the floor as an active member of the Portsmouth Ghostbusters. Utilizing the hobby's massive draw, she and her group regularly attend comic cons and local events with a single, united mission: raising vital funds for local charities.
For the readers standing on the sidelines—especially those battling the same shyness and anxiety that once held her back—Harii offers a crucial blueprint for getting started:
"Start small. Pick one or two characters you're comfortable with and stick with that until you find your confidence to branch into other characters or franchises. Definitely, don't compare yourself to other cosplayers."
Harii’s journey reminds us that cosplay is far more than just fabric and foam; it is a vehicle for self-discovery, charity, and triumph over our deepest insecurities. We are incredibly proud to name her COZ Magazine’s June Person of Interest.
