Every month, the COZ Couples segment celebrates the bonds that hold our community together. But love and partnership don't always come wrapped in traditional romance. Sometimes, it manifests as the ultimate pop-culture "bromance"—a chaotic, shield-bashing, chimichanga-eating brotherhood born on a convention floor.
Meet Jerad “JT” Goethe and Cody Davis, known across the Rocky Mountains as Jeetspool and SoCo Logan. Residing in Littleton, Colorado, this powerhouse duo has become a staple of the local community, bringing the absolute finest (and most hilarious) elements of Deadpool and Wolverine to life. With JT rocking seven years of crafting experience and Cody bringing four years of dedicated cosplay under his belt, their partnership is proof that the best duos aren't planned—they are fated.
Every great partnership has an origin story, and theirs is perfectly in character. Two years ago, on the bustling floor of Fan Expo Denver, Cody (in full Wolverine garb) and a friend cosplaying as Blade were posing for a photo. Suddenly, a wild Deadpool streaked across the lens. JT saw the iconic duo, decided boundaries were completely optional, and forced his way into the frame.
The chemistry was instant. Following the event, Cody tracked JT down on social media, asking to join forces for future gatherings. They officially united their claws and katanas, and as the saying goes, the rest is history.
When asked what it’s actually like to cosplay together side-by-side, the boys stay perfectly on-brand. "For one of us it’s wonderful, for the other it’s hell," they laugh. "But which is which? We'll let the reader decide."
While they are best known for the classic yellow-and-blue and red-and-black suits, both builders boast a deep roster of variants. JT is a certified specialist in all things Deadpool, while Cody branches out into iconic heavy-hitters like Hellboy and Anakin Skywalker. Together, they form the core of the Mile High Multiverse, a Colorado-based community cosplay group dedicated to bringing joy exactly where it’s needed most.
Their favorite memory together highlights the exact reason they put on the suits. Unannounced and completely unexpected, the duo—along with a few members of the Mile High Multiverse crew—crashed a local neighborhood block party.
"The kids and families all loved it!" they recall. "The kids ran down the street every time a different character came around the corner. It was one of the most spontaneous, wholesome moments of joy shared between the community and us as cosplayers."
Cosplay partnerships aren't just about the applause; they are about surviving the logistical nightmare of a convention center floor. The duo is incredibly candid about the realities of the hobby. From navigating the inevitable financial strain ("It is not a cheap hobby, haha!") to handling minor miscommunications and disagreements at high-stress events, they’ve learned what it takes to stay solid.
For them, conflict resolution comes down to basic survival tactics. "The main issues can primarily be solved by communication—which is odd coming from a couple involving the Merc with the Mouth," JT notes. They stress the absolute necessity of having a rock-solid plan for when and where to meet up if you get separated on the floor, especially since cell service inside massive event centers is notoriously shoddy. Their other golden rule? "Always have your outfits coordinated!"
For any friends or couples looking to jump into the community together, Jeetspool and SoCo Logan have a simple directive: Just get started. No matter your current experience level or what you want to build, the community is ready to catch you.
Keep your eyes peeled on the Denver streets and the upcoming convention floors, because these two have plenty of unannounced variants up their sleeves.
